We are proud to announce that SI2 Fund has sold its stake in Helpper to Impact Expansion. The fund management is confident in Impact Expansion’s ability to further Helpper’s mission, and is strengthened in its commitment to impactful investments.

SI2 Fund, a Shaping Impact Group impact fund, has successfully sold its stake in Helpper to independent impact investment fund Impact Expansion, marking the next phase in the Belgian platform’s growth. Helpper, which connects individuals with reduced autonomy to local helpers, has grown significantly since its founding in 2017. As an early investor, Shaping Impact Group is proud of the positive impact Helpper has made in promoting social inclusion and fostering community-driven assistance.

Confidence in Helpper’s future

Shaping Impact Group is confident that Impact Expansion, with its expertise and resources, will help take Helpper to the next level. Pieter Oostlander, fund manager of SI2, states: “We are very pleased that Impact Expansion will guide Helpper through its next phase of growth. Their involvement ensures the preservation of Helpper’s impactful mission while providing the expertise and resources needed to scale the business and extend its reach beyond the Flemish region.”

François Gerard, founder of Helpper, adds: “SI2 Fund has been more than an impact investor to Helpper. As an innovative social startup, we have been facing new challenges all the time. SI2 Fund has played an active role in finding solutions to overcome these hurdles. From connecting us to the right experts to guiding us in strategic exercises.”

François de Borchgrave and Karen De Vits, Partner and Investment Manager at Impact Expansion, respectively, share their enthusiasm for the new collaboration: “We are thrilled to support Helpper in the coming years and contribute to building a more inclusive and healthier society. Under the leadership of CEO Leslie Vlerick, and with the foundation laid by founder François Gérard alongside investors Carevolution and Shaping Impact Group, Helpper has become a robust organisation.”

Continued commitment to impact

As Shaping Impact Group exits Helpper, our focus remains on supporting ventures that drive meaningful social and environmental change. Shaping Impact Group looks forward to seeing Helpper’s continued success in the capable hands of its new partner and is strengthened in its commitment to pursue new opportunities that align with the group’s mission.
